In long-awaited news, it was announced today that Vail Resorts has acquired Park City Mountain Resort for $182.5M in cash.

The acquisition settles all litigation between the parties, and the dispute will no longer pose any future threat or disruption of future resort operations.

Vail Resorts intends to connect Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons for the 2015-16 ski season, which would create the largest single ski resort in the United States of America with over 7,000 skiable acres.  The proposed resort connection is subject to regulatory approvals.

Mountain operations of Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort will remain separate for the 2014-15 ski season.  However, Epic Pass season pass holders will have access to PCMR this coming ski season.
