St Regis Deer Valley Ranked Best Family Hotel In the US

Deer Valley has a well deserved reputation for being a great place for family ski vacations and Travel & Leisure has just named the St. Regis at Deer Valley as the Number One Hotel for Families in the U.S.

That is high praise for this relative new comer to Park City especially considering the other 5 Star family friendly resorts such as the venerable Stein Eriksen Lodge and the acclaimed Montage at Deer Valley.

Now, the snowboarders in the family can not rip the famed courduroy of Deer Valley as it is a skiing only mountain, but Park City has a ridiculous abundance of ski and snowboarding choices, with no less than 9 world class resorts less than an hour's drive from this bucolic mountain town.

The ease of access from Salt Lake International Airport, the draw of a real western ski town with great restaurants, all manner of snow sports and activities including the Olympic Sports Park and the 'Greatest Snow on Earth' has been enough to cement Park City's standing as a world class destination and to that we now add the Best Family Hotel in the U.S....

It seems a bit unfair to those Disney-esque towns in hard to reach places of Colorado, but there will always be a certain stigma to Utah that some people can't get over so they will continue to go through all the extra effort to get those places where it is more important to be seen wearing the right ski clothes than exploring the mountains.

In Park City you are more likely to see duct tape on ski pants than Bogner one pieces (unless Stein is out on the slopes!)

If you have not visited Park City on vacation you owe it to your whole family to give it a try, but beware, the more time you spend here, the more time you will want to spend here. It is a 'slippery slope' as many of our clients will tell you, especially those who came to ski for a week or two and now spend more time here in the summer than the winter!
