Great Park City Schools.

Schools are an integral part of any community.  Great schools create value for students and enrich their lives.  A school district with an established tradition of excellence also adds value to the real estate inside the school district.

What makes Park City schools great, sets Park City Schools apart from others and makes Park City a town you want to live and own real estate in?  So many things- some of which you may not know about…

Like- The Jeremy Ranch Jumpers.

Jeremy Ranch Elementary is one of four elementary schools within the Park City School District.  Two days a week, over 70 of Jeremy’s students (enrollment is around 500 students, K-5) arrive to school 45 minutes early.  They’re not forced out of bed by parents-  they’re eager participants in the Jeremy Ranch Jumpers jump rope club and arrive at school early ,excited to start the day exercising and practicing for performances.  The program is such a success that many children continue to participate after they leave Jeremy for middle school.  Enrollment in the club has soared each and participation has grown to the point that two extra days had to be added to accommodate all of the kids.

In a country riddled with obesity problems and confusion about how to keep all family members healthy, it’s both inspirational and reassuring to see so many of our children willingly engage twice a week in what most adults would consider a very tough workout.

The kids- ranging in all grades kindergarten through fifth, with some 6th and 7th graders returning from middle school, are encouraged to learn at their own pace and learn new jump roping skills.  Kids are eventually put into smaller groups (no one is ever left out) and the groups create their own routine for performances.  The end of year performance has become an absolute favorite among parents and students.  It’s a pleasure to see the kids perform the routines they created- all mixed with new skills and some humor, all while improving their physical health.

Chip Cook, the Physical Education Teacher at Jeremy Elementary started the program three years ago and it has grown every year: “It’s exciting to see the kid’s skills grow along with their joy for the sport.  They get plenty of exercise before the first bell rings. “

Physical Education and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle is taken seriously in both our schools and community.  If you’d like to research buying real estate in our community, please contact us and we'll help you get started.
